Instant Water Chlorination Certificate
Following your water mains chlorination you will be issued with an instant Chlorination Certificate on-site. We pride ourselves on being able to work with clients in a timely manner to ensure you can be connected as soon as possible. We work digitally and you can expect an electronic certificate before we leave site. This evidences you having a water mains chlorination completed.
Laboratory Results
We send the water samples to our UKAS accredited laboratory and the results are returned in approximately 3-5 days working days. As soon as we receive the results these are sent to you. You then must forward these findings to the water utilities provider.
When will the Water Company Connect?
Water companies such as Yorkshire Water will not proceed with the connection until the water sample results are returned to them with the Laboratory’s UKAS PDF certificate stating the samples are clear. Water Hygiene Consultants will issue you with the certificate as soon as we receive it. Please send the findings to your water utility company contact. We do not liase directly with the water company.
Compliant Water Systems

How does water chlorination work?
Each chlorination commences with the flushing of the water system with clean drinking water. This is done to remove any debris and provide a clean base for the chlorination to take place.
Following the first flush through, the system is filled to capacity with a chlorinated solution which remains for a minimum of 1 hour. Following this, our technicians will neutralise the chlorinated solution and dispose of it safely. The final stage of the water chlorination process is flushing the system with clean water for a second time to remove any residual traces of chlorine.
